Reducing Storage Management Complexity and Cost Remains Top Driver for Email Archiving Projects
Metalogix Survey Shows that Traditional IT Pain Points Outweigh E-Discovery and Regulatory Compliance as Drivers for Exchange Archiving
WALTHAM, Mass., September 22, 2009 – Metalogix Software, a leading provider of email archiving solutions for Microsoft Exchange® as well as SharePoint migration, management, archiving, and recovery solutions, today announced additional findings from a recent survey which shows that traditional IT pain points, including storage management complexity and costs, remain the top drivers for Exchange archiving projects. The Metalogix poll, which included responses from more than 800 IT administrators, shows that even as demand for regulatory compliance and e-discovery readiness builds, it’s the traditional pains that continue to fuel new archiving projects for most organizations.
Key findings in the Metalogix survey show that one quarter of Exchange or SharePoint owners plan an archiving project during 2009. Of those companies, the top drivers include:
- Storage management/reducing storage costs (34%)
- Mailbox management (26%)
- Regulatory compliance (24%)
Server performance (24%) - PST proliferation issues (22%)
- E-discovery (15%)
