Map SharePoint Folders to
Document Libraries or Sites

Connect for ShareLink

This utility is a windows application that can be run on the user's desktop or SharePoint web front end server. It provides a graphical user interface to map folders to document libraries, or to specific sites. It visualizes any permission issues and allows the permissions to be either changed, or the data to be mapped to another document library or site.

Exports Supported

Exports generated by exporting tools for Open Text ECM/Livelink and Open Text eDocs are supported for loading into Connect.

Mapping and Metadata

Moving from legacy systems typically results in a square peg/ round hole issues with topologies and constructs that do not match. In addition user name spaces may have changed and all of these will have to be mapped from one application to another. Connect for ShareLink provides automated tools and support for user interaction in making these decisions. Core metadata such as created by, modified by, create date, and modified date will always be preserved. Also, extended metadata such as categories and attributes can be deployed as content types or list columns to ensure data integrity and accurate search results.

Deploying

Two options for deploying content, either directly from the desktop application, or creating a batch load from which Bulkloader will import all of the content into SharePoint. Batch loads can be scheduled to execute during non-peak times.
