Move Content with SharePoint

Cut and Paste

Cut and Paste is an application for SharePoint that provides an easy way to move or copy documents from one document library to another directly at the site level of SharePoint. From the web-based interface, SharePoint does not offer any way to move a document that maintains the version history. Cut and Paste solves this conundrum. The cut, copy, and paste operations are integrated into SharePoint's user interface so there is no need to use explorer view or network neighborhood to copy a document from one location to another.

Features

Integration

Cut and Paste for SharePoint is integrated into the user interface of SharePoint. Functioning at the web site level, end users can easily use all of the Cut and Paste functions, all of which add to the functionality of inherent SharePoint tools.

Preservation

Cut and Paste preserves version history and attributes on all documents. When copying documents from one document library to another the version history is also copied. Content modified by users is maintained when a document is copied to another document library. Furthermore, attribute information on Office documents are copied to the destination document library as well.

Versatility

Cut and Paste allows you to copy entire folders, as well as individual documents. It provides the ability to copy an entire folder structure or the entire contents of a list with ease. This copy capability includes sub folders and documents contained within the folders.
