Which SharePoint components does Migration Manager for SharePoint support?

Migration Manager for SharePoint supports all site and list types, master pages, page layouts, custom site columns, managed metadata columns, workflows, Nintex workflows and content types.

Can I reorganize content or re-template sites when migrating or upgrading?

Yes. Migration Manager for SharePoint supports both re-templating and content re-organization.

Is this a supported migration / upgrade path?

Yes. Migration Manager for SharePoint uses the supported SharePoint object model, web services and Client Object Model to migrate data. Unlike other migration solutions, there aren’t any undocumented writes to the SharePoint database.

Can we migrate data from a backup or offline database?

Yes. Metalogix Migration Manager for SharePoint can connect to a Microsoft SharePoint database backup once it has been restored in Microsoft SQL Server. Offline content databases are supported by Metalogix Selective Restore Manager for SharePoint.

We currently have content in both SharePoint 2010 and MOSS 2007. Are both of these content sources supported?

Yes. SharePoint Portal Server 2003, WSSv2, MOSS 2007, WSSv3, SharePoint Foundation, SharePoint Server 2010, SharePoint Online and Office 365 are all supported sources.

In addition to SharePoint-to-SharePoint upgrade, reorganization or consolidation, do you support any other migration scenarios?

Yes. Metalogix also supports migration from Exchange Public Folders, MCMS 2002, NTFS file shares, Documentum, eRoom, Oracle Content Server (formerly Stellent), Blogs (Blogger, WordPress, Telligent, etc.), Google Apps, Websites and others.

We have a large amount of test data and real content in our SharePoint servers. Is it possible to migrate a subset of the data from one version of SharePoint to another, or from the same version to a different farm?

Yes. With Migration Manager for SharePoint, you can granularly select items, folders, lists or sites with rich filter support and migrate only the subset of content you specify from the source to your target SharePoint server.
