SharePoint 2007 Migration Software

Overcome Common Management Challenges with SharePoint 2007 Migration Software

System administrators responsible for managing Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 implementations are faced with a variety of content management challenges, such as dealing with redundant site structures, broken links, bloated content databases, and inconsistent navigation. With Metalogix Migration Manager for SharePoint, administrators can address these challenges effectively and with minimal effort.

Manage Site Structure and Redundant Content

Removing redundant sites and content can prevent end-user confusion and orphaned data while reducing content database bloat. With Metalogix Migration Manager for SharePoint, administrators can identify redundant sites and move relevant users, webparts, list and libraries to the appropriate location. After the copy process has been completed, the redundant sites can be deleted.

Identify and Manage Broken Links

Managing broken links within SharePoint sites is a tedious and time-consuming process. Easily identifying broken links allows content owners and administrators to ensure that end-user productivity is not adversely impacted. Metalogix Migration Manager for SharePoint provides an easy-to-use solution for finding broken links in lists and web parts with minimal effort. The resulting broken links report can be distributed to content owners to facilitate link correction, or the data itself can be corrected/re-organised using the Migration Manager for SharePoint data grid.

Manage Site Navigation

Migration Manager for SharePoint provides administrators with a convenient way to manage navigation settings for any site collection. Navigation settings can specified for any site node as well as subsites and parent sites. Top-level, quick launch, and tree navigation as well as navigation scope can all be controlled from a single dialog.

Solution

The popularity of Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 and SharePoint Server 2003 led many organizations to deploy these versions to various business units and, in some instances, across their enterprises. While the capabilities of SharePoint 2003 were robust, with the release of SharePoint 2007, key functionality improvements in the software, such as vastly improved search, document management and workflow and restore capabilities with the Recycle Bin, encouraged many of these organizations to upgrade.

However, the biggest barrier to upgrading is performing the process without jeopardizing the knowledge built into the existing platform. Metalogix developed Migration Manager for SharePoint to assist with the migration of SharePoint content from SharePoint 2003 technologies to SharePoint 2007, without unnecessarily risking their data and intellectual property. Metalogix SharePoint 2007 Migration software allows for greater flexibility of migration between servers, versions and farms with granular migration, reorganization of sites during the process and many other enhanced capabilities. Unlike some other content migration options, Metalogix SharePoint 2007 Migration software uses only fully supported features of SharePoint, so using the tool will not affect existing support agreements with Microsoft.
