One needs only to turn on the news or read today’s paper to learn about the newest struggles in healthcare. While not dominating the news as it once was, a recent concern was the Zika virus – a crisis that the World Health Organization judged a worldwide public health emergency that caused the CDC, among other remediations, to issue travel warnings. And, while its no longer holds the top position in the news, it hasn’t gone away. It is still a very real and extremely serious issue that is here to stay (at least for now). But there is another problem plaguing healthcare that affects every single one of us, every day — the security of the information infrastructure that enables modern healthcare to exist.
